California love

Taylor and I headed out to California the other weekend for our friends' (Mark and Jenna) wedding.  Taylor was a groomsman, and I got to be Jenna's escort through the temple.  We just love them.

It was a great trip even though it started off a little as the trip from hell.  We got stuck in major traffic going to the airport.  We were pretty sure we were going to miss our flight, only to find out our flight was slightly delayed.  Shortly after we found out that Taylor's license was expired--by 5 days.  Thanks to a little sweet-talking and persistance on my part along with Taylor's Costco membership card and an old student ID, they reluctantly let us fly.  Feeling total relief as we got on the plane didn't last long.  That 'slight delay' ended up being a near 2 hour delay.  No AC + pregnancy does not bring out the best in me. 

We flew into LAX around 11pm and went to pick up our rental car.  Since Taylor's license was expired, they wouldn't rent it under his name.  Problem: I'm not 25 yet, therefore, I'm not responsible enough to rent a  car.  After some more pleading, etc, we were off in a beat-up rental with a broken AC.  

Most of the bad luck ended there with exception to Taylor's tux being lost at the temple (I know, weird), battling CA traffic, trying to protect some girl from getting punched in the head by her loser boyfriend, and forgetting to pack some essentials...the trip ended on a high note.

We even got to stop in and see our friends Josh and Laura.  Josh is Taylor's childhood best friend, and I happen to know Laura from freshman year at BYU.  We hadn't seem them for years, and it was a blast! Their little girl got us excited to be having a girl, too.  Brynlee was too cute, and gave both Taylor and I hugs and kisses when we left.  

And best of all, the weather was to die for! Move me to California.  It was beautiful.

Such a beautiful bride! Both Mark and Jenna's families aren't Mormon so it was great to see the family at the ring ceremony.
